DESCRIPTION:The internationally acclaimed\, American/British poet\, Anne S
 tevenson (1933-present)\, has been described by Andrew Motion as ‘one of
  the most remarkable poetic voices to have emerged on either side of the A
 tlantic in the last fifty years.’  This talk will describe some of the m
 ain themes and major qualities pertaining to that voice\; elaborate on the
  interplay between the imaginary and the real in her poetry\; and illustra
 te the musicality and craftsmanship Stevenson demonstrates in her detailed
  depiction of the world about her. Copies of the poems to be discussed wil
 l be made available.
