DESCRIPTION:The “Multiconfigurational Time-Dependent Hartree for Bosons
” (MCTDHB) method\n(http://mctdhb.org) has been applied very successfull
y in studying the ground-state prop-\nerties and highly non-equilibrium qu
antum dynamics of interacting trapped bosons in one\nspatial dimension (PR
 L 106 240401\, NJP 13 043003\, PRL 103 220601). In this talk we\nare going
to present first results with the MCTDHB in two spatial dimensions (2D).
As\na concrete example\, we will show an exact numerical many-body study o
 f the transition\nfrom a condensed state to a Mott-state of several intera
 cting bosons on a real-space\nlattice in 2D
