DESCRIPTION:The Documentary Method as an instrument for text interpretatio
 n and data analysis is one of the most sophisticated methods of qualitativ
 e research in Germany. \n	By attending the Documentary Method workshop you
  will get a first impression about the stance\, subject and interpretation
  process of the method. The workshop will start with a brief overview abou
 t qualitative inquiry in Germany followed by a description of the central 
 principles and steps of the Documentary Method. \n	In the second part of t
 he workshop we will spend most of the time practising actual text interpre
 tation. As  preparation you are required to read two introductory articles
  about the documentary method and workshop material which consists of a tr
 anscribed peer group discussion of seven girls from an International Schoo
 l.\n	This is Part 1 of the workshop. A commitment to attend both parts of 
 the Documentary Method workshop is required for securing a place.\n
