DESCRIPTION:Italian schools have been under pressure in recent years to de
 velop stronger approaches to school evaluation. In this seminar\, *Dr. Val
 entina Grion* from the University of Padua will describe some of the initi
 atives that have taken place in Italy in response to pressure from Europea
 n reforms. She will consider some of their strengths and weaknesses and ou
 tline some of the ways in which current strategic initiatives might be imp
 roved.\n\nThis seminar will provide some fascinating insights into the way
 s in which different European countries have tackled the problems of evalu
 ating schools.
