DESCRIPTION:Flux compactifications are an important building block for obt
aining (semi-)realistic string theory vacua. Conventional H- and geometric
  flux are rather well-understood in this setting\, however\, non-geometric
fluxes are understood to a far lesser degree.\n\nIn this talk\, it is fir
st reviewed how certain fluxes can be treated as the torsion of a connecti
on\, and how gravity theories can be formulated via the Palatini formalism
. Next\, this formalism is extended to higher orders in the curvature lead
ing to constraints on the fluxes\, which are then interpreted as Bianchi i
 dentities.\n\n
