DESCRIPTION:I will discuss how the U(1) vector fields that live on the wor
ldvolumes of D-branes in Type IIB string theory may play the role of vecto
r curvatons and hence give rise to distinctive features in the spectrum an
d bispectrum of the curvature perturbation. I will first consider vector f
 ields on D3-branes in open-string inflation\, as a means of illustrating t
he principle. I will then discuss a D7-brane vector curvaton scenario in c
 losed-string inflation. \n\n
