DESCRIPTION:Interactions between ocean surface waves and sea ice are consp
 icuously absent from contemporary ice-ocean models and _OGCMs_. However\, 
 projects are now underway to address the omission. I will talk about the m
 odels used to create a wave-ice interaction component for a forecasting mo
 del\, and show some preliminary results from a prototype model of the Fram
  Strait.
