DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, we will discuss both time-independent and time-
 dependent models of Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) type that arise in the d
 escription of relativistic self-gravitating fermionic systems. In particul
 ar\, we will examine the variational calculus attached to this problem\, a
 s well as results on the singularity formation for the corresponding dynam
 ical equations of HFB type. Time permitting\, we will also discuss some op
 en problems too. \n\nThis is joint work with M. Lewin\, C. Hainzl\, and B.
  Schlein. \n\n
