SUMMARY:Epigenetic Regulatory Complexes in Development and Cancer - Dr Pe
 ter Mulligan\, Harvard University

DESCRIPTION:Epigenetic regulatory factors\, including enzymes and chromati
n binding proteins\, have been implicated in virtually every step of tumor
progression and the majority of cancer sub-types. Identification of the
complexes in which these regulators function has yielded insights into the
ir mechanisms and the biological/cancer processes they regulate. My resear
ch has focused primarily on the purification and characterization of compl
exes of the epigenetic regulators SIRT1 and CDYL\, uncovering epigenetic m
echanisms in Notch pathway regulation and suppression of oncogenic transfo
 rmation respectively.\n
