DESCRIPTION:The recent discovery at the LHC of a particle compatible with
the Higgs\nboson may open a window on scenarios of new physics beyond the
Standard model. In\nfact\, searches for new heavy fermionic states have be
en undertaken both at Tevatron\nat the LHC\, but no evidence have emerged
so far\, pushing the mass bounds above\n400-600 GeV\, depending on specifi
c scenarios. Vector-like quarks are however\npredicted in various scenario
s of new physics\, and their peculiar signatures are\nworth investigating
in detail. I will illustrate the phenomenology of vector-like\nquarks from
a point of view which is as model independent as possible\, describing a\
nminimal scenario with the inclusion of a new vector-like state which coup
les to SM\nquarks through Yukawa interactions. Constraints coming from mod
ifications of SM\nobservables will also be analysed and some of the most p
romising signatures of\nvector-like quarks at the LHC will be presented.
