DESCRIPTION:The Internet is now considered a utility rather than a luxury.
We\nbelieve that basic access to the Internet should be made free\,\natle
ast to access essential services. We see enabling donated\nlunches (act of
sharing resources) as a potential solution to solve\nthe problem of digit
al exclusion caused due to socio-economic\nbarriers. In this paper\, we pr
opose LCD-Net: Lowest Cost\nDenominator Networking\, new Internet paradigm
that architects\nmulti-layer resource pooling Internet technologies to su
pport\nbenevolence in the Internet. The paper also emphasizes the need\nto
identify and extend the stakeholder value chain to enable\nbenevolent acc
 ess to the Internet.
