DESCRIPTION:Concordia station is one of only 3 bases in the interior of An
 tarctic that are crewed all-year round. For nine months of the year it is 
 totally isolated\, inacessible due to temperatures to low for vehicular\na
 ccess\, and crewed by 14. Dr Eoin Macdonald-Nethercott lived and worked th
 ere for 15 months from the end of 2010 through to the beginning of 2012\, 
 conducting physiological research for the European Space Agency.\n\nThis t
 alk aims to be a general description of the environment\, the station\, th
 e science that is conducted there\, and the reason why the European Space 
 Agency is involved.
