DESCRIPTION:Digital technology has a large number of intrinsic properties
which\nare widely discussed but perhaps not so widely appreciated outside
of\nengineering circles. Some of these affordances have significant\nimpl
ications for the Humanities. For example: what constitutes\n'scholarship'
in a digital era? What is the future of the book\, the\nmonograph\, even
of documents? How will forms of scholarly argument\nand presentation chan
ge? What is the nature of 'authority' in a\ndigital age? What happens to i
ntellectual property and moral rights in\na remix culture? And how will a
cultural heritage encoded in digital\nmedia be preserved for centuries to
  come?\n\n
