DESCRIPTION:Pulsars (pulsating radio stars) are some of the most bizarre o
bjects in the universe\, with densities comparable to the density of the n
ucleus\, huge electric and magnetic fields\, strong gravitational forces a
nd relativistic speeds. In this talk I will describe the main properties o
f these stars and show how studying them has extended our knowledge of phy
 sics.\n\nTalk is free for members\, and £2 for non-members.
