DESCRIPTION:In the talk\, I will provide an overview of some of mathematic
 al problems that arise in the context of computer software industry. This 
 will include designing of online contests\, information diffusion\, and al
 gorithms for big data. This context asks for a rich set of mathematical te
 chniques including those from the game theory\, applied probability\, stat
 istical learning\, differential equations\, and discrete mathematics. The 
 talk should be accessible to anyone\, providing a pictorial guide through 
 real-world examples\, and giving an idea about the techniques used and int
 eresting end results.
