DESCRIPTION:John Walker is Director of the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit 
 in Cambridge. His work on ATP\, the “energy currency of life” led to h
 im being awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1997 and he was knighted
  in 1999 for services to molecular biology. Sir Paul Nurse\, the Royal Soc
 iety’s President described John Walker’s research as “absolutely fun
 damental to our understanding of what powers living cells and thereby all
