DESCRIPTION:‘Neuroscience models: tips and tricks for stem cell differen
tiation to cells of neural lineage\, downstream protein analysis and quant
 ification.' \n\nFollowing on from the
success of its first technical lecture in association with Life Technologi
es\, Cambridge Neuroscience welcomes Dr David Bourdon to Cambridge. The le
cture will look at neuroscience models (Parkinson's disease\, Alzheimer's
disease) and focus on tips and tricks for stem cell culture\, engineering
and differentiation to cells of neural lineage and the downstream analysis
through imaging/flow cytometry & protein analysis and quantification.\n\n
David’s Ph.D. and postdoctoral work focused on the study of G protein co
upled receptor pharmacology and thrombosis. Following his academic trainin
g\, he led Luminex multiplexing automation efforts at PerkinElmer. Joining
Life Technologies in 2009\, David is an R&D Staff Scientist in Carlsbad\,
California\, where he and his team developed the ProtoPlex™ Immune Resp
onse Assay platform. David is a vocal advocate of utilizing Novex multiple
xed immunoassay tools to measure both halves of the proteome (antigens & a
utoantibodies) with xMAP technology. Along with collaborators at the Unive
rsity of California - San Diego\, David is utilizing the combined power of
Novex multiplexed cytokine panels as well as the newly developed Novex Pr
otoPlex platform to perform immune profiling with the goal of identifying
autoantibody biomarkers in high profile autoimmune and viral diseases. Dav
id welcomes discussions and can be reached at david.bourdon@lifetech.com\n
\nDavid will be in Cambridge for the entire day so please do not hesitate
to get in touch with him to arrange a meeting.\n\nRegistration is FREE but
is required and available at http://www.neuroscience.cam.ac.uk/events/eve
nt.php?permalink=1b46c26790\n\nThe lecture will be followed by a wine rece
ption and an opportunity to talk to David.
