DESCRIPTION:Magnetic fluctuations near to quantum criticality can have pro
found effects. They lead to characteristic scaling at high temperature whi
ch may ultimately give way to a reconstruction of the phase diagram and th
e formation of new phases at low temperatures. The ferromagnet UGe2 is uns
table to p-wave superconducting order - an effect presaged by the superflu
idity in Helium-3 - whereas in CeFePO fluctuations drive the formation of
spiral magnetic order. Here we develop a general quantum-by-disorder descr
iption of these systems that encompasses both of these instabilities in a
unified framework. Moreover\, in revealing their fundamentally common orig
in\, we demonstrate how these instabilities can become intertwined to form
  a pair density wave.
