DESCRIPTION:This seminar will examine the issues surrounding growth in the
  region\, given recent changes in the delivery of planning policy and the 
 difficult times we now face.  It will examine where we are now\, in the li
 ght of the history of planning & development in the region\, the status of
  recent regional and local structure plans and development and consider th
 e effects of the abolition of the Regional Spatial Strategy\, of new plann
 ing policy frameworks\, the Localism Act and other current initiatives.\n\
 nIt will consider how the various new structures can function to deliver s
 ignificant growth in the area over the next 10-15 years in an internationa
 lly significant low-carbon\, knowledge based economy.\n
