DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will summarize our Group's studies exploring 
 the unusual physics of the highly anisotropic\, quasi-one-dimensional supe
 rconducting metal lithium molybdate. This will cover a number of issues in
 cluding the possible realization of the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid state in
  the bulk and its range of stability\, violation of the Pauli paramagnetic
  limit and its possible consequences\, and finally\, time permitting\, the
  observation of an unusual field-induced symmetry breaking.
