DESCRIPTION: The wealth of information available through spectroscopic mea
ns has lead to deep insights into the spatiotemporal evolution of complex
systems. In one-dimensional spectroscopy\, the system response is highly
averaged and information lost. Adding dimensions allows one to disperse i
nformation into higher\, and hence\, less dense dimensions albeit at the c
ost of longer acquisition times and increased experimental complexity. Thi
s talk will focus on applications of single-shot two-dimensional photon ec
ho spectroscopy to exciton dynamics in the light harvesting complex\, LH2\
, from purple bacteria and semiconductor quantum dots. Future applicatio
n of these and other related optical methods to proteomics\, biophysics\,
and chemical dynamics will also be discussed.
