DESCRIPTION:Rare decays of B mesons (containing a b-quark and either an s-
or d-antiquark) into two muons are highly suppressed in the Standard Mode
l of particle physics and very sensitive to new-particle contributions fro
m beyond the Standard Model\, such as supersymmetry. The LHCb experiment h
as collected a huge amount of proton-proton collision data at the Large Ha
dron Collider and now has the sensitivity to observe these rare decays. We
present some of the latest LHCb results and\, in particular\, the current
status of the search for rare B decays.
