DESCRIPTION:The seminar reports on ongoing studies for general purpose det
ectors at a future TeV-scale e+e- Compact LInear Collider (CLIC). \n\nThe
CLIC physics goals impose stringent requirements on the detector. Improvem
ents on state-of-the-art track and jet energy resolutions are needed. At t
he same time\, the beam-induced backgrounds introduce challenging conditio
ns for the event reconstruction. Under these circumstances\, satisfying th
e physics goals is achieved by designing the detectors with high granulari
ty particle flow in mind. \n\nIn the seminar\, several sub-detector system
s are highlighted and it is shown how the detector requirements can be ach
ieved. The requirements and the technological solutions found are compared
to those of ATLAS and/or CMS.
