 polistic practices and of the rise and fall of Ivar Krueger\; in four Amer
 ican magazines: Fortune\, Business Week\, Nation and New Republic. The pri
 mary focus is on the two business magazines. Business Week saw publication
  in September 1929\, while Fortune had its first issue in February 1930. T
 he paper interrogates the repertoire of economic representation of the 192
 0s and 1930s and asks how the burgeoning economic journalism found a voice
  in Depression America.
