DESCRIPTION:Singular value decomposition is the key tool in the analysis a
nd understanding\nof linear regularization methods. In the last decade non
linear variational\napproaches such as $\\ell^1$ or total variation regula
rizations became quite\nprominent regularization techniques with certain p
roperties being superior to\nstandard methods. In the analysis of those\,
singular values and vectors did not\nplay any role so far\, for the obviou
s reason that these problems are nonlinear\,\ntogether with the issue of d
efining singular values and singular vectors. In\nthis talk we want to sta
rt a study of singular values and vectors for nonlinear\nvariational regul
arization of linear inverse problems\, with particular focus on\nsingular
 one-homogeneous regularization functionals.
