DESCRIPTION:Nuclear transfer to amphibian eggs was used some fifty years a
 go to demonstrate that  almost all cells of the body have the same set of 
 genes.  This led\, over the next few decades\, to an increasing interest i
 n the prospects of using nuclear reprogramming for drug testing and eventu
 al cell replacement therapy.  This talk will trace the history of these ev
 olving ideas and prospects.\n
