DESCRIPTION:The incompressible Euler equations model the motion of an idea
l fluid. It has been known since V. Scheffer's groundbreaking work some tw
enty years ago that the Cauchy problem for these equations admits non-uniq
ue weak solutions with highly pathological behaviour. I will survey variou
s recent results on such "wild solutions" for Euler and discuss conceivabl
e criteria for singling out the "right" solution.
