DESCRIPTION:In this review we will describe recent efforts to integrate si
gnal transduction pathways with various sorts of genomics data\, with the
aim to find key regulators of gene expression and mechanisms of signal tra
nsduction. We will focus on applications related to human disease\, and ex
plore how these methods can be used to study drug's mode of action. Genomi
c (in particular gene expression) data has been proposed as tool for drug
discovery. Here\, we will explore how approaches that include prior knowl
edge on the underlying biochemical processes provide deeper mechanistic in
sight and enhance the power of genomic data to develop novel therapies for
  diseases such as cancer.
