SUMMARY:Norwegian Architecture? - Ingerid Helsing Almaas\, Editor-in-Chief

DESCRIPTION:Norwegian architects have become visible on the world stage. S
maller practices like Element Arkitekter\, Tyin tegnestue\, Rintala Eggert
sson\, Haugen Zohar\, Code or 3RW hold their own alongside more establishe
 d names like Snøhetta\, Jarmund Vigsnæs\, Jensen & Skodvin\, Helen & Har
d and others. The most successful Norwegian projects are characterised by
readable form\, simple use of materials and a clear attitude to landscape
as well as social context. Does this mean we can talk about a new Norwegia
n architecture? And what does "Norwegian" mean\, anyway?
