SUMMARY:Genome-wide approaches to study alternative splicing using RNA-seq
data - Dr. Kathi Zarnack\, London Research Institute and EMBL-EBI

DESCRIPTION:The wealth of available RNA-seq datasets opens great opportuni
ties to address keys questions in the field of alternative splicing. I wil
l start my presentation with a general introduction into alternative splic
ing and its role in shaping fundamental processes such as cellular differe
ntiation. Zooming in on the unprecedented opportunities that arise from th
e development of high-throughput RNA sequencing technologies\, I will then
review different approaches and tools to extract splicing information fro
m genome-wide datasets.\n\nThe talk is part of the CCBI seminar series and
the DTP graduate course Reviews in Computational Biology\, but is open to
  all attendees.
