DESCRIPTION:In this talk we shall discuss some novel developments on varia
 tional regularization methods for inverse problems\, with a particular foc
 us on sparse reconstructions. \n\nWe discuss some novel tools in the under
 standing of bias introduced by regularizations\, asymptotic properties of 
 sparsity regularization as the number of degrees of freedom increases\, an
 d finally some novel regularization techniques for 3D and 4D imaging.
