DESCRIPTION:What factors explain the characteristic organization of struct
 ural connectivity in the cerebral cortex\, and what are implications of th
 is network topology for brain dynamics?  I will give an update on our work
 \, in which we study the relation of features such as existence\, density 
 or laminar patterns of corticocortical projections to other structural par
 ameters\, explore concepts of optimal network organization and simulate th
 e impact of connectivity on network dynamics with the help of a simple exc
 itable model.\n
