DESCRIPTION:There are two prominent notions in mathematics denoted by an a
rrow: one is the idea of a mapping from one sort of thing to another\, and
the other is implication. Prima facie\, these two notions seem rather unr
elated\, but in fact there is a deep connection between the two which mani
fests itself in several different ways. The fundamental idea came from the
Brouwerian school of intuitionism and has since been developed from an in
formal principle into various rigorous equivalences\, and it remains a top
 ic of research even today.
