DESCRIPTION:Wenmao Liu from Tsinghua University\, Beijing\, China\, is goi
 ng to introduce one of his research projects about Chinese national engine
 er training scheme. Wenmao currently is a visiting scholar in IfM's Manufa
 cturing Industry Education Research.\n\nIn Tsinghua University's Institute
  of Education\, Wenmao is a research associate focusing on engineering edu
 cation. In his talk\, Wenmao will introduce a national programme entitled 
 "Chinese education strategy for the modern excellent engineers" co-funded 
 by Ministry of Education and Chinese Academy of Engineering.  The programm
 e mainly focuses on Chinese university level education strategy for the fi
 rst-class engineers in the future. More than 300 universities and several 
 million students will be deeply involved in the programme that will have v
 ery strong impacts on Chinese engineer education system.\n\nWenmao was tra
 ined as an electric engineer and gained his PhD in the energy development 
 and feasibility research. Before he join Tsinghua research team\, he had h
 is rich industrial experiences in coal technology\nand electricity energy 
 arenas including power plant management and renewable energy developments.
  Because of his industrial experiences and research programme in Tsinghua\
 , he also participated in the Chinese education reform including policy re
 search as the member of centre for engineering education of Tsinghua.\n
