DESCRIPTION:In this session we will present preliminary results of a mix-m
ethod pilot study to better understand how young people in the UK are navi
gating the transition into a more sustainable society.\nDifferent drivers
behind young people’s energy use and saving will be approached in the se
ssion based on focus groups and survey data specifically designed to inves
tigate the effects of environmental education and eco-schools in preparing
young people for environmentally-friendly life-styles.\n\nThe CEBRG is an
interdisciplinary research group on environmental education and energy-sa
ving behaviours in young people. It is being led by Dr Hilary Cremin from
the Faculty of Education\, Dr David Reiner and Dr Michael Pollitt from the
Judge Business School as well as Dr Michelle Baddeley from the Faculty of
Economics. Dr Pablo Souto and Dr Elpida Makrygianni joined the team as re
search associates to work with schools and key stakeholders.\nThe results
of this research project will generate elements to discuss the role of edu
cation as well as other factors in the transition to sustainability.\n\n\n
