DESCRIPTION:Future energy networks face the significant challenge of integ
 rating inherently intermittent and variable renewable power generation whi
 le maintaining a high degree of security of supply.  The talk will explore
  a simple stochastic model for large scale fast response storage together 
 with slow-to-moderate ramping generators in a potential future energy syst
 em with a high degree of wind penetration.  The talk will consider the tra
 de-offs between various system performance measures including wind spill a
 nd the loss of load probability.
