DESCRIPTION:I present a complete catalog of disc galaxies automatically se
 lected from\nthe SDSS. This sample contains about 6000 objects and exhibit
 s the largest\nmodern collection of true edge-on disc galaxies. The sample
  galaxies are\nused to determine the structural parameters of their discs 
 and bulges using\nmulti-dimensional component modelling. I report on the r
 esults of this\ninvestigation\, including the properties of thick discs\, 
 dust distribution\,\nand haloes.\n
