DESCRIPTION:This presentation provides an overview of the status of work t
o provide a scalable multicore research platform that boots an OS (Linux)
and supports the integration of heterogeneous ISAs and hardware accelerato
rs. Given the importance of memory interactions in these systems\, the tea
m has built a scalable platform that can be instantiated on a FPGA with di
fferent configurations that can be scrutinized at run time using configura
ble performance monitors. The FUSE API\, developed independently\, is now
being integrated to support research into heterogeneous multicore platform
s.\n\nBio:\nLesley Shannon is an Associate Professor in the School of Engi
neering Science at Simon Fraser University\, Canada. She received her Bach
elor's Degree from the University of New Brunswick in Electrical and Compu
ter Engineering in 1999\, and then completed her M.A.Sc. and her Ph.D. at
the University of Toronto in 2001 and 2006\, respectively. Her primary are
a of interest is Computing System Design\, specifically: Reconfigurable Co
mputing and Application-Specific Architectures\, FPGA Computer Aided Desig
n (CAD) tools\, Operating System Abstractions and Scheduling for Asymmetri
c/Heterogeneous Multicore Systems\, and Reconfigurable Microfluidics.
