DESCRIPTION:Analyses of high-throughput data require extreme levels of sig
 nificance\, much further "out in the tails" of reference distributions tha
 n usual. Motivated by work in Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS)\, thi
 s talk describes why some standard approaches fail to be accurate enough\,
  out in the tails\, and the practical problems this causes. Novel but stra
 ightforward methods with better accuracy will also be described.
