DESCRIPTION:There has been considerable progress recently in computing fin
ite size quantum corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking-Wald entropy for a
class of black holes in string theory. These computations of `exact' quan
tum entropy of black holes involve a new application of localization techn
iques in a gravitational context and reveal surprising connections with th
e fascinating mathematics of mock modular forms.\n\nIn the broader contex
t of holography and the AdS/CFT correspondence\, such finite size quantum
gravity corrections correspond to finite N corrections in the gauge theo
ry. I will outline why such corrections are interesting\, how to compute
them\, and what we can learn from them.
