DESCRIPTION:I will talk about the recent progress for single-electron tran
sistors (SETs) fabricated by bottom-up strategy\, which is the result of m
y research group in Japan. \nStable operation under room temperature\, con
trolled characteristics\, and mass-production are required for SETs toward
practical application. Bottom-up fabrication processes can overcome these
issues because the structure can be controlled in sub-nm scale to utilize
molecular self-assembly and chemical processes. \nOur group has demonstra
ted “Chemically assembled SETs” to assemble three nano-components: Sel
f-assembled monolayer\, Synthesized Au nanoparticles\, and Electroless Au
plated nanogap electrodes [1-3]. \nIn this presentation\, I will show the
detailed electrical characteristics of chemically assembled SETs and the p
revious research collaboration with SP group.\n[1] Appl. Phys. Lett. 100\,
