 This event aims to change that by providing an insight into the issues of 
 cybercrime\, its impact and detection\nand a selection of mature and enter
 prise ready approaches together with practical examples of how to use them
 .\n\n*Background*\n\nOWASP (Open Web Application Security Project is a 501
 (c)(3) not-for-profit worldwide charitable organization\nfocused on improv
 ing the security of application software. Their mission is to make applica
 tion security visible\,\n\nso that people and organizations can make infor
 med decisions about true application security risks.\nThe Department of Co
 mputing & Technology at Anglia Ruskin University is enhancing its curricul
 a and\ncapabilities in information security following its successful BSc(H
 ons) Information Security and Forensic\nComputing course.\n\nEstablishing 
 a joint professional networking group with OWASP concentrating on aspects 
 of computing and\napplication security is a key part of this enhancement. 
 A key aim the department is working towards is\ndeveloping a MSc Informati
 on Security specialising in Application Security and as part of this activ
 ity looking todevelop and a local Information Security Student Society.\n\
