DESCRIPTION:Shannon's channel coding theorem proves the existence of capac
 ity achieving codes without giving one. Polar codes\, introduced by Arikan
 \, can achieve the capacity of arbitrary discrete memoryless symmetric cha
 nnels. In this talk\, we present an overview of polar coding techniques wi
 th focus on its construction. We then discuss our ongoing work.
