DESCRIPTION:Sustainable consumption and production requires significant ch
 anges in the way production processes function\, supply chains are organis
 ed\, distribution and retail networks operate and consumer needs are met. 
 This paper presents a methodology for identifying the carbon emissions 'in
 duced' directly and indirectly in the economy as a result of the final dem
 and for consumer goods and services. It presents the results of a pilot ex
 ercise for the UK economy and discusses the implications for manufacturing
  and for the development of new\, more sustainable business models.
