DESCRIPTION:We will be discussing a paper by Jos Uffink entitled "Can the 
 maximum\nentropy principle be explained as a consistency requirement?" (19
 97)\, which\ncarefully examines the efforts that have been made (by Jaynes
 \, Shore &\nJohnson\, and others) to provide a clear justification of the
