DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to welcome Robert Marshall\, CEO of The Mars
 hall Group to speak to Cambridge Network members on Tuesday 22nd October 2
 013\n\nRobert was appointed chief executive officer of the Marshall Group 
 of Companies in January 2012.  Marshall is a fourth generation family comp
 any with annual sales of £900m.  The Company owns and operates Cambridge 
 Airport and has extensive activities in aerospace design\, military aircra
 ft maintenance\, military ground systems and motor retail.  The Company is
  based in Cambridge and employs 4\,000 people.  It is a founder member of 
 the Cambridge Network of high tech companies\, promoting new business usin
 g the skills uniquely available in the Cambridge region\n\nAfter attain
 ing a 1st Class Degree in Engineering at Cambridge University\, Robert spe
 nt some time in the USA as a Scientific Research Associate with Lockheed M
 artin\, later founding a business designing and manufacturing specialist e
 quipment for use in microbiology laboratories.\n\nRobert joined Marshall o
 f Cambridge in 1994.  In January 2010 he took on the role of Chief Operati
 ng Officer for the Marshall Group of Companies and in January 2012 was app
 ointed Group Chief Executive.\n\nRobert is enthusiastic about engine
 ering and the education and training of engineers in the UK.  He retains a
  strong interest in the Cambridge University Engineering Department and si
 ts on the Board of the EEF.  Robert is an Alumni of Harvard Business Schoo
 l and a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.  He is also a keen aviat
