DESCRIPTION:A high-profile panel considers the immigration debate from a d
iverse variety of angles. David Goodhart (Director\, Demos)\, Habib Rahman
(Chief Executive\, Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants)\, Dr Mich
ael Kitson (University of Cambridge)\, and Sarah Fine (King's College Lond
on) tackle the complex and dividing issues surrounding the debate on immig
ration.\n\nImmigration has become a major and divisive issue which dominat
es the media and elections - perhaps more so now than ever before. Yet des
pite the emotive positions on various sides of the argument\, debate frequ
ently lacks the thoughtfulness or objectivity that such an important topic
demands. This panel discussion brings together experts from a range of ba
ckgrounds and positions\, who will cut through the slogans and politicking
to reveal a more objective picture of immigration policy in 2013. The eve
nt will involve an in-depth Q&A\, enabling the audience to engage in the d
ebate and ask questions of a panel with wide-ranging understandings of the
  issues at hand.\n\nPanellists: \n\nDavid Goodhart (Director\, Demos) \n
