DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will present the Carat collaborative energy d
 iagnosis project and our lessons learned when analyzing mobile application
 s. The project is joint with UCB and University of Helsinki. The key idea 
 of the methodology is to gather app\, battery\, and context data on mobile
  devices and then to analyze and diagnose the data in the cloud. We have s
 tudied energy hogs\, bugs\, user feedback effect\, and analysis techniques
  for malware identification. I will highlight the key research results and
  lessons learned in the talk.\n\nBio: Sasu Tarkoma received his M.Sc. and 
 Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Helsinki\, Depart
 ment of Computer Science. He is full professor at University of Helsinki\,
  Department of Computer Science and Head of the networking and services sp
 ecialization line. He has managed and participated in national and interna
 tional research projects at the University of Helsinki\, Aalto University\
 , and Helsinki Institute for Information Technology (HIIT). He has worked 
 in the IT industry as a consultant and chief system architect as well as p
 rincipal researcher and laboratory expert at Nokia Research Center. His in
 terests include mobile computing\, Internet technologies\, and middleware.
