 Lorentzian bulk geometries\, contrasting the Ryu-Takayanagi minimal surfac
 e prescription with the Hubeny-Rangamani-Takayanagi extremal surface presc
 ription. The former guarantees that entanglement entropy is continuous (th
 ough not necessarily differentiable) function of region size. We discuss c
 onditions leading to saturating the Araki-Lieb inequality giving rise to a
 n 'entanglement plateau' and conclude with open questions related to the h
 omology constraint.\n
