DESCRIPTION:Creating non-trivial geometric forms is difficult. The problem
is further complicated when the target form is to be physically fabricate
 d. In absence of appropriate tools\, designers often spend long hours acco
unting for a variety of physical and functional constraints\, which are of
ten complex and difficult to manually account for. Our research focuses on
developing algorithms that characterise\, parameterize and expose 'valid'
shape spaces implicitly defined by such constraints. In this talk\, I wil
l discuss our latest attempts to analyze large model collection to discove
r such shape spaces and use them to develop intuitive computational tools
to facilitate creation of semantically meaningful yet easy-to-fabricate sh
 apes (e.g.\, developable shapes\, RF structures\, etc.). \n
